As the global demand for sugar rises, Indonesia takes center stage in the international sugar industry with its 6th edition of Sugarex Indonesia, a prestigious exhibition dedicated to sugar technology. This annual event will be held on November 22 and 23, 2023, at Dyandara Convention Center (DCC), Surabaya.
Indonesia’s prominence in the sugar industry is undeniable. In 2022, the country possessed an impressive 451,000-hectare sugar plantation. With such a strong foundation, Indonesia will expand its sugar production capacity by establishing 15 new sugar factories over the next five years.
Sugarex Indonesia brings together a diverse array of professionals, experts, and enthusiasts from various sectors within the sugar industry. The exhibition attracts many attendees, including sugar manufacturers, process and engineering experts, lab chemists, sellers and resellers of sugar and allied products, and research and development.
Additionally, Sugarex Indonesia welcomes international partners, including ITECA Socadei from France. ITECA Socadei’s Color & Vision department, with over 25 years of experience, specializes in real-time image processing techniques applied to various industries, including the sugar sector. Their presence at the exhibition offers an opportunity for cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing.
One of the latest ITECA technologies is the CrystObserver, which can measure the crystal size in real-time directly inside the pan for raw and refined sugar, beet, or can. A robust, adaptive, and automatically controlled LED light source backlights the crystals behind a fused sight glass in front of a high-resolution digital camera with optical magnification.
